【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoverstheinstallationofsuspensionsystemsforacousticaltileandlay-inpanels.Itisapplicabletocontractorswhoseservicesareutilizedforinstallingacousticalceilingsandtoothertradesiftheiractivitiesareresponsibleforinterferencewithceilingcomponentsorperformanceasdefinedinthisrecommendedpractice.1.2Whilethepracticesdescribedinthisdocumenthaveequalapplicationtoratedfire-resistivesuspensionsystems,additionalrequirementsmayhavebeenimposedtoobtainthefireenduranceclassificationofparticularfloor-ceilingorroof-ceilingassemblies.Thesedetailsshouldbeobtainedfromthemanufacturers.1.3Similarly,additionaldetailingmaybenecessarytomeetsoundattenuationrequirementswhenceilingplenumsextendovercontiguousrooms.These,too,shouldbeobtainedfromthemanufactureroftheacousticalmaterialemployed.1.4ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.5Whilemanyofthepracticesdescribedinthispracticehaveapplicationtotheinstallationofmetalsuspensionsystemsinexteriorenvironments,thespecificdesignofexteriorceilinginstallationsrequiresthereviewandapprovalofthearchitectorengineer,orboth,whoareresponsiblefortheconstructionofthebuildingormodificationstoanexistingbuilding.Whilerecommendationsfromthemanufacturershouldbesolicited,itremainsthefinalresponsibilityofthearchitect/engineertoensureproperapplicationofthematerialsinquestion.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
