【摘要】:Eithervirginstressesorthestressesasinfluencedbyanexcavationmaybedetermined.Thistestmethodiswrittenassumingtestingwillbedonefromanundergroundopening;however,thesameprinciplesmaybeappliedtotestinginarockoutcropatthesurface.Thistestmethodisgenerallyperformedatdepthswithin50ft(15m)oftheworkingfacebecauseofdrillingdifficultiesatgreaterdepths.Somedeepertestinghasbeendone,butshouldbeconsidereddevelopmental.Itisalsousefulforobtainingstresscharacteristicsofexistingconcreteandrockstructuresforsafetyandmodificationinvestigations.Thistestmethodisdifficultinrockwithfracturespacingsoflessthan5in.(130mm).Alargenumberoftestsmayberequiredinordertoobtaindata.Therocktestedisassumedtobehomogeneousandlinearlyelastic.ThemoduliofdeformationandPoisson''sratiooftherockarerequiredfordatareduction.Thepreferredmethodfordeterminingmodulusofdeformationvaluesinvolvesbiaxiallytestingtherecoveredovercores,asdescribedinSection8.Ifthisisnotpossible,valuesmaybedeterminedfromuniaxialtestingofsmallercoresinaccordancewithTestMethodD7012.However,thisgenerallydecreasestheaccuracyofthestressdeterminationinallbutthemosthomogeneousrock.Resultsmaybeusedfromotherinsitutests,suchasTestMethodD4394andTestMethodD4395.Thephysicalconditionspresentinthreeseparatedrillholesareassumedtoprevailatonepointinspacetoallowthethree-dimensionalstressfieldtobeestimated.Thisassumptionisdifficulttoverify,asrockmaterialpropertiesandthelocalstressfieldcanvarysignificantlyovershortdistances.Confidenceinthisassumptionincreaseswithcarefulselectionofthetestsite.Localgeologicfeatureswithmechanicalpropertiesdifferentfromthoseofthesurroundingrockcaninfluencesignificantlythelocalstressfield.Ingeneral,thesefeatures,ifknowntobepresent,shouldbeavoidedwhenselectingatestsitelocation.Itisoftenimportant,however,tomeasurethestressleveloneachsideofalargefault.Allboreholesatasingleteststationshouldbeinthesameformation.Sincemostovercoringisperformedtomeasureundisturbedstresslevels,theboreholesshouldbedrilledfromaportionofthetestopeningatleastthreeexcavationdiametersfromanyfreesurface.Thesmallestopeningthatwillaccommodatethedrillingequipmentisrecommended;openingsfrom8to12ft(2.4to3.6m)indiameterhavebeenfoundsatisfactory.Aminimumofthreenonparallelboreholesisrequiredtodeterminethecompletestresstensor.Theoptimumangleeachholemakeswiththeothertwo(trihedralarrangement)is90x00B0;.However,anglesof45x00B0;providesatisfactoryresultsfordeterminingallthreeprincipalstresses.Boreholesinclinedupwardaregenerallyeasiertoworkinthanholesinclineddownward,particularlyinfracturedrock.Note28212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/andthelike.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheambientlocalstress......
